Inside ASTMH

In these deeply troubling times, we offer strong support to all in our community. We are witnessing the drastic changes being imposed by the United States administration regarding global health, yet our Society remains committed to the advancement of science to save and improve lives. We have stood and will continue to stand for excellence in tropical medicine and global health research. 

The Society looks forward to working together closely in advancing global health initiatives that advance U.S. interests and health, and expresses its deep concern regarding the recent announcement of plans to withdraw from the WHO.

There are many things President Carter will be remembered for, but for us at ASTMH—as well as so many others around the world—one aspect of his rich legacy will be his commitment, compassion and dedication to improving the health and lives of people suffering from tropical diseases.
