• Time Zone in New Orleans is U.S. Central Standard Time. For example, the Opening Plenary session takes place at 5:30 p.m. in New Orleans on Wednesday, November 13, when it will be 6:30 p.m. in New York and 2:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14 in Nairobi.
• Outlet converters. Many countries use a voltage and outlet style different from the United States. If you are traveling from outside of the U.S., you might consider bringing an outlet converter for your electronics.
• Temperatures vary in meeting rooms. We recommend that you dress in layers or bring a sweater to wear during the meeting sessions.
• Convention Center is cashless. The Convention Center does not accept cash for purchases. Please be prepared to pay by credit card for any food or beverages purchased at the Convention Center. Please be sure your bank is aware of your future purchases to avoid any issues.
• There may be rain next week. Bring an umbrella or a rain jacket for the walk from your hotel to the Convention Center.
• Certificate of attendance. All attendees receive a certificate of attendance after the meeting.
• We want to hear from you! Share your photos, insights and favorite moments using the hashtags #TropMed24 and #IAmTropmed. And tag @ASTMH on X, LinkedIn and Facebook. You also can post your best photos to the Photo Gallery icon on the dashboard of the meeting app.
• Speakers – Submit your slides to the Speaker Ready Room 24 hours before your presentation.
► All in-person presenters are REQUIRED to visit the Speaker Ready Room (SRR) to submit their presentation slides.
► The Speaker Ready Room is located in Room 387 on the third floor of the New Orleans Convention Center
► Even if you pre-submitted your slides through the Presentation Submission Portal, please visit the Speaker Ready Room.
► Please note that the Speaker Ready Room will be closed for one hour at mid-day, so please check the schedule. |

COVID Safety Protocols
The health and safety of our attendees remain our top priority. ASTMH is following the current COVID-19 guidelines from the CDC. These guidelines recommend that attendees stay up to date with vaccinations, isolate and test if not feeling well, and maintain good hand hygiene. CorDX has kindly donated combination COVID-19/flu tests that will be found in each registrant’s welcome bag. Please also feel free to reach out to ASTMH staff member Stephen Croll if you need guidance on where to find medical assistance or to make notification of confirmed COVID-19 illness. |

Note: We encourage you to walk between your hotel and the Convention Center. A very limited shuttle transportation service will run between the Hilton Riverside and Convention Center, primarily intended for those unable to walk the 20 minutes between venues and those hosting side meetings. The shuttles will run on a constant loop daily, but may be slower than walking and is not set up to transport everyone. |
