The ICID, held every two years, brings together clinicians, allied health practitioners, researchers, epidemiologists, veterinarians, pharmacists, academics, and public health practitioners from over 100 countries including renowned experts and key thought leaders in their fields. The upcoming ICID 2024 will be among the largest global health meetings held on the African Continent, focusing on regional infectious disease challenges including pneumonia, vaccine-preventable diseases, tuberculosis, malaria, HIV, Zika, Dengue, Marburg, Ebola, as well as infection control and planetary health strategies.

The ICID 2024 will provide a platform that fosters networking, the exchange of research findings, and collaboration on solving problems with a global emphasis on trends in Infectious Disease management and prevention, while also delivering knowledge regionally focused on South Africa and the African Continent.

Additionally, this year, we have the privilege to collaborate with the Federation of Infectious Diseases Societies of Southern Africa (FIDSSA) which will be organizing a full-day pre-ICID 2024 Educational Workshop on December 2nd, 2024. This workshop, hosted by FIDSSA, is designed for infectious disease and microbiology trainees preparing for exams or physicians seeking an update and review of topical issues in infectious diseases.
