Summer Institute in Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases

7/7/2025 - 7/11/2025
Designed to introduce infectious disease researchers to modern methods of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling.
Location: In person (Emory University, Atlanta) and online.
Since 2009, SISMID has trained thousands of infectious disease researchers in modern methods in statistical analysis and mathematical modeling. SISMID attendees choose from a range of 2.5-day modules, covering topics such as spatial statistics, evolutionary dynamics, nowcasting and forecasting, machine learning, network modeling, reproducible research, and more -- all taught by experts in the field. Network with instructors and other attendees during poster evenings and improve your professional skills at lunch-and-learn sessions.

In addition to our in-person modules at Emory University in Atlanta, we are excited to offer new online modules! Online modules combine asynchronous content with virtual lab sessions with instructors. View our 2025 online module offerings

Scholarships are available for eligible graduate students and postdocs, including travel scholarships for in-person attendance. Scholarship Applications open February 17, 2025, and those received before March 17th will be given full priority.
